It is a great honour and pleasure to have Marius Preda, a world-renowned virtuoso of Romanian descent, perform for us. Marius plays numerous instruments including cymbals, violin, accordion, piano, bass guitar and trumpet. He is the first artist to have recorded a major jazz album on cymbals, with greats such as Arturo Sandoval, Mike Stern and Dennis Chambers
Marius Preda is one of the most versatile and unique artists of our time, and his outstanding skills are attracting worldwide attention. The jazz greats have nothing but praise for Marius, describing him as “one of the best artists they have ever worked with”
Other world-famous artists that Preda has worked with include Vladimir Cosma, Rosenberg Trio, Didier Lockwood, Philip Catherine, Gheorghe Zamfir, John Patitucci, etc.
His trio includes Ratko Zjača, a Croatian and international guitarist who needs no introduction to our audiences. Ratko is one of the founders of the ZZ Quartet, known for its creativity, and has released a number of solo albums. He has worked with numerous jazz greats, such as Benny Bailey, Randy Brecker, Gary Peacock, Reggie Workman, John Patitucci, Al Foster, Steve Gadd, Antonio Sanchez, John Riley, Miroslav Vitouš and many others. In 2024, Zjača released an album called Archtop Avenue, on which he plays solo guitar. It attracted a lot of attention from the public and is considered to be the top of the genre, crowning his career.
Marius’s son Eduard Preda is a piano virtuoso, composer and master of improvisation who graduated from the prestigious Berklee College of Music and has performed with The Preda Brothers at many events, including the North Sea Jazz Festival.
This splendid team from the Netherlands guarantees an unforgettable concert experience.
